Individual Members
Individual members shall consist of individuals who share the Madhur’s commitment to the mission and principles of the Madhur.
Section 1. Membership Eligibility criteria
- An individual is not convicted by US court as Human Rights offender or not convicted in any punishable crime.
- An individual, who has commitment to work for people living in Nepal’s lower plain land also called Madhesh/Tharuhut. Lower plain people are those who speak plains languages as their mother tongues or first languages, whether they were born or live in the plains or the hills. Plain languages are Maithili, Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Tharu, Rajbanshi, Raji, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Jhangar, and Marwari. Lower plain districts of Nepal are listed as Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusa, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahut, Bara, Parsa, Chitwan, Nawalparshi, Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Surkhet, Udaypur, and Makwanpur.
- Whose either of the parent or grandparent originally belonged to Madhesh
- Whose spouse belongs from Madhesh
Section 2. Rights of Individual Members.
Individual members shall have voting rights with respect to the Madhur. Other rights of individual members, if any, may be specified by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
Section 3. Chapter Affiliation.
Individual members may form or join a Chapter, but are not required to do so to be considered an individual member of the Madhur.
Section 4. Termination of membership
An existing member, whose conduct is in conflict with Madhur’s commitment to the mission and principles of the Madhur, will be brought to board notice. Chairman of the board in consultation with other board member can take decision for the termination of individual membership. Also, sleeping member whose participation is not helping Madhur’s commitment to the mission and principles of the Madhur, can be brought to board notice. Chairman of the board in consultation with other board members can take decision for the termination of individual sleeping membership.
Section 5: Membership Fee
Members will bear the expense to run the organization. Member should voluntarily contribute US $30 per month for organization expense. Membership fee can be revised periodically by the board and will be communicated to all the member 60days in advance.
